An Bíobla Naofa 1981

An té a labhraíonn uaidh féin, bíonn a ghlóir féin á lorg aige. An té a lorgann glóir an té a chuir uaidh é, tá sé fírinneach agus níl aon éagóir ann.

Eoin 7:18

Is eol dom d’oibreacha. Féach! Chuir mé doras ar leathadh romhat, nach féidir d’aon duine a dhúnadh, óir is beag é an neart atá agat ach choinnigh tú m’fhocal agus níor shéan tú m’ainm.

Apacailipsis (Taispeántadh) 3:8

Eoin 7 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

15 Tháinig ionadh, dá bhrí sin, ar na Giúdaigh agus dúirt siad: “Cén chaoi a bhfuil léann aige agus nach bhfuair sé foghlaim?”
16 D’fhreagair Íosa ansin:
“An teagasc seo a thugaim,” ar sé,
“ní liomsa é ach leis an té a chuir uaidh mé.
17 Más mian le haon duine a thoil-sean a dhéanamh,
aithneoidh sé an ó Dhia an teagasc
nó an uaim féin atá mé ag labhairt.
18 An té a labhraíonn uaidh féin,
bíonn a ghlóir féin á lorg aige.
An té a lorgann glóir an té a chuir uaidh é,
tá sé fírinneach agus níl aon éagóir ann.
19 Nár thug Maois an dlí daoibh?
agus ní chomhlíonann aon duine agaibh an dlí.
Cad chuige daoibh a bheith ag iarraidh mé a chur chun báis?”
20 D’fhreagair an slua: “Tá deamhan ionat! Cé atá ag iarraidh tú a chur chun báis?”
21 D’fhreagair Íosa: “Aon obair amháin a rinne mé,” ar sé, “agus tá ionadh oraibh go léir.

Apacailipsis (Taispeántadh) 3 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

5 An té a bheireann bua beidh sé gléasta mar sin in éidí geala, agus ní scriosfaidh mé a ainm as leabhar na beatha, agus admhóidh mé a ainm os comhair m’athar agus os comhair a aingeal.
6 An té a bhfuil cluas air, éisteadh sé lena bhfuil á rá ag an Spiorad leis na heaglaisí.’
7 “Scríobh go dtí aingeal na heaglaise i bhFilideilfia: ‘Mar seo a deir an té is naofa, an té is fírinneach, an té ag a bhfuil eochair Dháiví, an té a osclaíonn agus nach ndúnann aon duine:
8 Is eol dom d’oibreacha. Féach! chuir mé doras ar leathadh romhat, nach féidir d’aon duine a dhúnadh, óir is beag é an neart atá agat ach choinnigh tú m’fhocal agus níor shéan tú m’ainm.
9 Féach! tabharfaidh mé do shionagóg Shátain iad siúd a deir gur Giúdaigh iad féin agus nach ea, ach gur bréag dóibh sin, agus, féach, cuirfidh mé iallach orthu teacht agus sléachtadh ag do chosa agus a thuiscint go bhfuil grá agam duit.
10 De bhrí gur choinnigh tú focal m’fhoighne, coinneoidh mise thusa ó uair an chathaithe, atá le teacht ar an domhan go léir, chun lucht áitrithe an domhain a phromhadh.
11 Ní fada go dtiocfaidh mé; coinnigh do ghreim ar a bhfuil agat, i dtreo nach sciobfadh aon duine do choróin.

English Standard Version

The one who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood.

John 7:18

I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.

Revelation 3:8

Eoin 7 (English Standard Version)

15 The Jews therefore marveled, saying, “How is it that this man has learning, when he has never studied?”
16 So Jesus answered them,
“My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.
17 If anyone's will is to do God's will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority.
18 The one who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood.
19 Has not Moses given you the law? Yet none of you keeps the law. Why do you seek to kill me?”
20 The crowd answered, “You have a demon! Who is seeking to kill you?”
21 Jesus answered them,
“I did one work, and you all marvel at it.

Apacailipsis (Taispeántadh) 3 (English Standard Version)

5 The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.
6 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’
7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: ‘The words of the holy one, the true one, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, who shuts and no one opens.
8 “‘I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.
9 Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—behold, I will make them come and bow down before your feet and they will learn that I have loved you.
10 Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth.
11 I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.
