Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest. In plowing time and in harvest you shall rest.
Exodus 34:21
Jesus said to the Pharisees, Which one of you who has a sheep, if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not take hold of it and lift it out? Of how much more value is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
Matthew 12:11-12

The firstborn of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb, or if you will not redeem it you shall break its neck. All the firstborn of your sons you shall redeem. And none shall appear before me empty-handed. |

22 You shall observe the Feast of Weeks, the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the year's end. |

Of how much more value is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.” |

Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And the man stretched it out, and it was restored, healthy like the other. |
