In the path of your judgments, O Lord, we wait for you.
Isaiah 26:8
The Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives. It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?
Hebrews 12:6-7
7
The path of the righteous is level; you make level the way of the righteous. |
8
In the path of your judgments, O Lord, we wait for you; your name and remembrance are the desire of our soul. |
9
My soul yearns for you in the night; my spirit within me earnestly seeks you. For when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. |
5
And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons? “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him. |
6
For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.” |
7 It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? |
8 If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. |
