An Bíobla Naofa 1981

D’fhág Eilíseá an chuingir agus rith sé ar thóir Éilias. Lig dom m’athair agus mo mháthair a phógadh, ar sé; agus ansin leanfaidh mé thú. D’fhreagair Éilias: Gabh ar ais; óir an ndearna mé rud ar bith duit?

1 Ríthe 19:20

Ag gluaiseacht dóibh, dúirt duine éigin sa tslí leis: “Leanfaidh mé thú cibé áit a rachaidh tú.”

Lúcás 9:57

1 Ríthe 19 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

17 Cibé a thiocfaidh slán ó chlaíomh Hazáéil, cuirfidh Iéahú chun báis iad; agus cibé a thiocfaidh slán ó chlaíomh Iéahú cuirfidh Eilíseá chun báis iad.
18 Ach déanfaidh mé anacal anama ar sheacht míle in Iosrael, gach glúin nár feacadh do Bhál, gach béal nár phog é.”
19 D’imigh sé ón áit sin agus tháinig ar Eilíseá mac Sheáfát agus é ag treabhadh; bhí dhá dhamh déag sa chuingir aige agus é féin leis an dara ceann déag. Chuaigh Éilias thart i ndeas dó agus chaith a chlóca anuas air.
20 D’fhág sé an chuingir agus rith sé ar thóir Éilias. “Lig dom m’athair agus mo mháthair a phógadh,” ar sé; “agus ansin leanfaidh mé thú.” D’fhreagair Éilias: “Gabh ar ais; óir an ndearna mé rud ar bith duit?”
21 Thiontaigh Eilíseá i leataobh óna lorg, ghlac sé an chuingir agus mharaigh iad, agus leis na cuingeacha mar ábhar tine, bhruith sé feoil na ndamh; ansin thug sé do na fir í agus d’itheadar. D’éirigh sé ansin agus lean Éilias agus bhí ina shearbhónta aige.

Lúcás 9 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

54 Ar a fheiceáil sin do na deisceabail, Séamas agus Eoin, dúirt siad: “A Thiarna, arbh áil leat go n-ordóimis tine a theacht anuas ó neamh agus iad a scriosadh?”
55 Ach d’iompaigh sé chucu agus thug casaoid dóibh.
56 Agus d’imigh siad go dtí baile nárbh é.
57 Agus ag gluaiseacht dóibh, dúirt duine éigin sa tslí leis: “Leanfaidh mé thú cibé áit a rachaidh tú.”
58 Dúirt Íosa leis: “Tá prochóga ag na sionnaigh agus neadacha ag éanlaith an aeir, ach níl ag Mac an Duine áit ar a leagfadh sé a cheann.”
59 Dúirt sé le duine eile: “Lean mise.” Ach dúirt seisean: “A Thiarna, bíodh cead agam dul ar dtús agus m’athair a adhlacadh.”
60 Dúirt sé leis: “Lig do na mairbh a mairbh a adhlacadh, ach imigh tusa agus craobhscaoil ríocht Dé.”

Luke 9:57

1 Ríthe 19 (English Standard Version)

17 And the one who escapes from the sword of Hazael shall Jehu put to death, and the one who escapes from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha put to death.
18 Yet I will leave seven thousand in Israel, all the knees that have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.”
19 So he departed from there and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen in front of him, and he was with the twelfth. Elijah passed by him and cast his cloak upon him.
20 And he left the oxen and ran after Elijah and said, “Let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.” And he said to him, “Go back again, for what have I done to you?”
21 And he returned from following him and took the yoke of oxen and sacrificed them and boiled their flesh with the yokes of the oxen and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and went after Elijah and assisted him.

Lúcás 9 (English Standard Version)

54 And when his disciples James and John saw it, they said, “Lord, do you want us to tell fire to come down from heaven and consume them?”
55 But he turned and rebuked them.
56 And they went on to another village.
57 As they were going along the road, someone said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.”
58 And Jesus said to him,
“Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”
59 To another he said,
“Follow me.”
But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.”
60 And Jesus said to him,
“Leave the dead to bury their own dead. But as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”
